Getting involved

The Group is currently looking for volunteers who maybe able to give a couple of hours on Tuesday’s during term time.

For every child who would like the opportunity to ride we need a minimum of three volunteers, plus instructors and people who carry out behind the scene activities. These wonderful people give their time freely, not just to help the children but also to raise funds for the group.

We are a very friendly group of some 50 members but we can’t all be there each week, so if you feel you could be a volunteer or like to help in any way, you will be welcomed with open arms. You don’t have to be horsey as training will be given.

Although all RDA groups work under the umbrella organisation and abide by the articles of affiliation we are in fact independent charities. We receive limited financial support from RDA National for small capital projects and as we make no charge to the schools or the children, we depend on the money we can raise through sponsored activities. Our running costs include insurance, the hire of the indoor school, the hire of ponies, the buying of tack and other equipment, plus the cost of arranging parties and activities and sundries.

Our main fund raiser is an annual sponsored ride which is held at Bramham Park each June. With grateful thanks to the Lane-Fox family for their ongoing generosity and support over many years.
